Maggie Meek Lange - Freedom Thinker / Chelsea Sidewalk

absolutely lovely. her face... the setting... how very New York - and slightly wacky - to be sitting out on a leafy sidewalk on a balmy autumn evening. (at least: this is New York in my head. you guys probably never do this, right?)

It feels very New York to me too Andrea :) Her face is compelling to look at, lovely portrait.

Its seems as if her hand is coming out of the photo... Reaching almost. Very cool.

It looks like the area the Cosby Show was filmed. Of course that is unrelated. The triangle that her body creates really forced the eye to her face. Very well done.

i really like that tilt in her head. it's almost like she's trying to keep the big hand under control with the little hand (if that makes any sense).

The lens is too short! Classic mistake. My opinion only. Others may freely disagree.

ok. i'm a huge bill the photographer fan...but not nuts about this one. her hands look distorted and are very distracting. her face seems almost secondary to the big, warped hands. that said, i know NOTHING of photography, it's just an opinion. otherwise, i love most all of Bill's portraits (oddly enough the one he took of me is not one of the ones i like :( in that case it's the model, not the photographer i take issue with!)

for me, the hand sneaks character into the shot - maggie's not just a stylish intellectual, she's also funny as hell. perceptive detail there, bill.

she looks fascinating, LOVE the hands, love the EYES.....her confidence and composure carry sly hints of danger

I like the calm atmosphere of this photo and Maggie's delicate smile, but her hands distract my eye.
