Oh, I really like this one even if it is black and white. An old man relaxing in his yard in the country with an American flag and flowers in the background. He looks so much like home and family that I write this with tears in my eyes.

oh wow... this is just incredible. one of your best photographs ever, Bill. it's moving and it's fascinating and I could look at it for hours.

That face has lovable curmudgeon written all over it. This is definitely one of the best pics in my opinion.

Hahah I have this awesome feeling that his personality is being hidden in this. He is probably some hilarious guy that hates sitting down and is doing things all the time. He is too serious to be serious.
Carlos - http://www.fortstreetpulse.com

I love his countenance. He looks like he's just sitting out there, waiting to tell the kids to stay off his lawn. The wicker chair and americana background is great stuff.

Ooo, I love this one. Beautiful.

Damn dude this is good
Daniel Krieger - www.danielkrieger.com

That's a cracker Bill.

His shoes look weird, like they've been stuck on. He looks like an ornery s.o.b. - as you Americans like to say
Jack

Commenters: That's my father you're talking about, so watch it! He is much more amusing (and frequently amused, by everything) than he lets on, although there is a glimmer of mischief and characteristically exasperated nonplussedness here that Bill has captured beautifully. I must protest, however, that the man has never lounged on the lawn a moment in his life (on wicker, no less!). Beautiful work, Bill. I had no idea!
Nathan

Fantastic b&w portrait and terrific background.

This photography is so distinguished. It would look gorgeous framed.

What great character!

Bill - I think this is the best pic I've seen you take. WOW. Great work.

Bill, It's taken me three months to respond to this photo because I had to get used to this image of my dad. He looks so old in his white socks with no elastic and his diabetic's shoes. My brother bought him that t-shirt in Hawaii and he always wears khakis. Your audience, however, has him pegged: he is an ornery s.o.b., and loving, and hilarious. I especially appreciate your caption--he loved his work and loves his jazz, his family, and his friends. I am subscribing to your RSS feed now so I don't miss anything! --Carrie

I'm Bill Wadman, a New York-based photographer who after completing my first 365 Project, and then a weekly 52 Project, has taken it upon myself to shoot and post one portrait every day of 2007. The photo will have been taken that day, and each day will be a different person. Some will be in the studio, some will be in the wild. Hopefully they will all be interesting.

FYI, I am NOT Our365portraits.com who places Craigslist ads looking for photographers. I'm pretty sure they give an email address to reply to, and it's not mine. Thanks.
