Fernando Carpaneda - Sculptor / Penn Station

The colors of his tattoos and his backpack work well together. I also like the framing of the bill of his cap, the way it mirrors the lower half of his face and chin.

I generally enjoy the soft look on a guys face whos tattoos seem to imply something tough and ruged.

I saw this one and went to think about it. I could remember his face so precisely. Thoughtful and serious, like a professor, kind but still holding one accountable. The other images around seemed like the symbols of growth on a tarot card and much larger in memory. No memory of the sidewalk remained, just his examining face. Beauty.

His dark eyes and bearded, oval face evoke images of portraits of the Conquistadors. I get a sense of ancient lineage. I loved what Boo had to say. And I agree. His character is so beautifully conveyed. He is indeed strong yet vulnerable, but no ones fool. the kindness in that face is overwhelming. The symmetry of his tattoos and the straps of his backpack imply a strong sense of balance and commitment, both from the subject and the photographer.

I'm amazed with the beauty and simplicity of this picture. Not only the composition, but the colours and the intention is perfectly beautiful. The red and the black made a wonderful couple in this picture with a gorgeous natural model that is Fernando Carpaneda. I love it. Eudu
